Oracle EDM Hierarchy Updates !

Application Specific Validation for Equivalent Nodes in Related Viewpoints

- An application specific validation is available to verify whether certain nodes in a viewpoint also exist in one or more other related viewpoints.

- The Equivalent Nodes With Filter validation is disabled by default but can be enabled for any dimension where the same nodes must be in multiple viewpoints for data integrity reasons.

- The Related Viewpoints and Equivalent Nodes Filter parameters need to be configured for viewpoints where the validation will be enforced.

Business Benefit: This validation ensures completeness of nodes across multiple related viewpoints in a dimension for reconciliation purposes.

Calculated Name for Nodes Added By Copy or Model after Action

- Names can be calculated for new nodes that are added to a viewpoint using a Copy or Model After action.

- The calculated name can be based on properties and relationships which are copied or some other information about the node.

- Node names can be calculated when performing a Copy or Model After operation interactively, during a request file load, or using a subscription.

Business Benefit: Node names can be calculated for new nodes which are copied or modeled after existing nodes in a viewpoint.

Management Hierarchy Approvals

- Approval policies can be configured with the Management Hierarchy approval method to invite approvers based on a hierarchy of users defined in a Users type application.

- Users who are ancestors of the request owner in the management hierarchy are individually invited to approve their requests in a sequential manner.

- The approval policy can be set up with a fixed or variable number of approvals before the policy is fulfilled.

Business Benefit: Requests submitted by different users can have different approvers based on an organizational hierarchy that is maintained in Enterprise Data Management or loaded from a source system.

EPM Cloud and Rest API update for June 2024

REST API update for June 2024

OPTION TO USE EXISTING USERS WITH THE SIMULATE CONCURRENT USAGE REST API

  • The Simulate Concurrent Usage REST API has been enhanced to use existing users in the identity domain while running concurrent operations on an environment.
  • To use existing users in the identity domain with this REST API, you use test mode 4, which includes users defined in the users.csv file included in the input ZIP file.
  • In this mode, the REST API does not create the simulated users.

NEW ROLE ASSIGNMENT REPORT FOR USERS (V2) REST API

  • A new Role Assignment Report for Users (v2) REST API is available that generates a Role Assignment Report of users in the environment.
  • The report lists the roles assigned to users.
  • It identifies the user's login name, first name, last name, email address and assigned roles.
  • The report can be created for a specific user or a role or a combination of users and roles. The report includes:
    • Predefined roles (such as Service Administrator)
    • Application roles (such as Approvals - Assign Ownership, Approvals - Supervise, Approvals - Administer, and Approvals - Design Process)

NEW ROLE ASSIGNMENT REPORT FOR GROUPS (V2) REST API

  • A new Role Assignment Report for Groups (v2) REST API is available that generates a Role Assignment Report of groups in the environment.
  • The report lists the roles assigned to groups.
  • It identifies the group’s name, description, type and assigned roles.
  • The report can be created for a specific group or a role or a combination of groups and roles. The report includes:
    • Predefined roles (such as Service Administrator)
    • Application roles (such as Approvals - Assign Ownership, Approvals - Supervise, Approvals - Administer, and Approvals - Design Process)
You can now use the Get Applications REST API to view the current theme for the application.

Oracle EPM Cloud - 24.06 (Jun) Security and Access update for users and Retention Days Increase to 60

In the June 2024 update, Oracle has come up with new methods for Security and Access update for users.

Below are some highlights:

INFORMATION ON SETTING MULTIPLE PASSWORD POLICIES

- To satisfy the requirement for distinct password restrictions across different users, groups, and roles, you have the option to create multiple password policies and assign them to various IDCS groups.

- Users belonging to a specific IDCS group adhere to the password policy designated for that group.

- This information is now available in Getting Started with Oracle Enterprise Performance Management Cloud for Administrators.

NEW APPLICATION ROLE: ACCESS CONTROL – MANAGE

- EPM Cloud users can now be assigned a new Access Control - Manage application role.

- Users with this role have the ability to manage groups and assign application roles to both groups and individual users. Additionally, they can generate reports on user security.

60-DAY RETENTION OF BACKUPS FROM OCI (GEN 2) TEST ENVIRONMENTS

- The daily backups of OCI (Gen 2) test environments are now retained for an extended period of 60 days.

- Previously, the backups of production environments were retained for 60 days while those of test environments were retained for 30 days only.
