Using Oracle EPM Application Diagnostics to Optimize Application Design
Administrators use the Application Diagnostics tool to evaluate application design against Oracle-recommended Essbase and Planning best practices and to identify issues that may affect performance, maintainability, and overall application health.
The tool performs self-service assessments across key design areas, including metadata, dimensions, forms, and executed rules, and identifies potential concerns, such as dimension property settings, form suppression settings, and rules that were launched with errors.
To run Application Diagnostics:
- From the Home page, click Application and then click Overview.
- From the Actions menu, select Application Diagnostics.
This tool generates an Excel report in the Inbox/Outbox folder containing diagnostic findings, impact details, and recommendations for improvement, enabling administrators to proactively optimize application design and troubleshoot issues more efficiently.
